The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Ever since I beat Calamity Ganon in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, I was waiting to see if Nintendo would ever make a sequel to that amazing game. I was happy when they announced that the sequel was in development back in E3 2019. Unlike the majority, I was very patient will how long development for the game was going to last because of how the world will be much more expanded upon than the previous game and with how long the previous game took in terms of development history and the final product is one of my top 3 titles in the Zelda series. This is one of the few games I will pick up once it hit store shelves.
Resident Evil 4 (remake)
If you go to various lists of the greatest video games of all time, I bet you 100 bucks that you will most likely find Resident Evil 4 around the top area. The 2005 game has been ported to many consoles from the GameCube to the PlayStation 4 and there's even a VR version for the Meta Quest 2 back in 2021. RE4 is one of my all-time favorite games and easily my favorite installment in the series. Those Regeneradors still scare the heck out of me. Recently, Capcom has released complete remakes of their classic games with Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, and both turned out extremely well. So, when they announced that RE4 was going to get a remake, I was excited but also interested in how they would update the original. Judging by the first teaser, I was hyped. I don't think it is going to be better than the original but it would still be amazing to see.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2
With Insomniac Games' Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales, the company proves that they can make the player feel like the web-slinger while also creating an amazing version of Peter Parker and Miles Morales. I was immediately excited when the game was announced and also when it was revealed that Venom was going to play a part in the sequel. Can't wait til I get to climb across buildings and getting all those suits in the City that Never Sleeps when it comes to the PlayStation 5.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
When it comes to Star Wars games, it can be very divisive, to say the least, especially with EA not having the best track record with the Star Wars property, but Jedi: Fall Order was a great installment despite some problems so it wasn't a shock when it was announced that a sequel was in development. I am excited to continue the story of Cal Kestis and continue the Star Wars mythos of this series. May the Force Be with you all!
Hollow Knight: Silksong
One of my favorite indie games is Hollow Knight and one of the many games that inspired me to be a game designer. I was excited when they announced that they are making a sequel. Despite the delays, knowing how much they are passionate about perfecting this, I have hope that this game will deliver.
Alan Wake II
For years and years, we have been waiting for a sequel to Alan Wake and finally, we are getting one. The first Alan Wake was a great game that felt like a television series and hopefully, this sequel can recapture the feel of the first game while continuing the story of this author.
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Final Fantasy VII is one of my favorite RPGs and with the remake that came out in 2020, it was amazing to see the original get updated, and with Rebirth, it will finish the original story. Can't wait to see the remainder of this amazing game.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Rocksteady already made a name for themselves when they did the Batman: Arkham series and prove that you can make a great Batman game but also make the player feel like they are Batman, so now they are tackling the Suicide Squad with this game about them trying to stop the Justice League who are being mind-controlled by Brainiac. I am excited not just for the Suicide Squad but also to hear the late Kevin Conroy, one last time as Batman, may he rest in peace.
Dead Island 2
The first Dead Island game may not be an amazing game, but it was a decent game to try out, but was kind of disappointing, especially with its outstanding trailer, but I am interested in checking out Dead Island 2. While it has a long development history, hopefully, the final product won't suffer from the curse that other development hell games had.
Street Fighter 6
With so many installments in this franchise, I'm surprised they haven't called this Street Fighter 28, and weird they didn't use a Roman Numeral in the title. All jokes aside, it has been 6 years since the last Street Fighter and I am excited to play this game with 6 new characters being added to the franchise, it is neat to see the different modes confirmed. Let's K.O. this to the next level!
Redfall
Developed by Arkane Studios, famously known for the Dishonored series and recently with the underrated game Deathloop, Redfall is set to be a Left 4 Dead meets Borderlands co-op shooter as players will have to fight off vampires. With the various gameplay footage shown, this has the potential to be the next big thing and I'm curious to see what this game has to offer on release day.
